Applying your emotional intelligence = being an authentic leader

How to be fully authentic as a leader? You do need to apply your emotional intelligence.  Being authentic as leader is about leading the purpose, values and principles, and the benefit of being an authentic leaders are;

  • Better relationships with colleagues
  • Higher levels of trust
  • Greater productivity
  • And a more positive working environment

This creates teams and organisations that are high performing and are also great places to work.  Being authentic is about knowing yourself, and having insight into others. With our teams being more dispersed and learning new ways of working it has never been more necessary to foster teams and a great team culture.  This article by Daniel Goleman gives good summary of how to be an authentic leader.

As Daniel Goleman noted, the best way to strengthening your own emotional intelligence and  increase your authenticity as a leader is through self-reflection, mindfulness, and guidance of a coach.  Let’s talk.
